Ascending from the banks of the Grand Union Canal stands the newly completed Alperton Village; a mixed use, mixed tenure development which aspires to play a key role in the creation of a vibrant waterfront precinct for people to live, play and work.
The development comprises a total of 186 apartments; 60 private and 126 shared ownership and RSL rented apartments and homes. The contemporary architectural style, outdoor space and pedestrian-friendly streetscape have been designed to allow full appreciation of this waterside environment. A new mooring basin and street level cafe and commercial units will animate the open space and promote waterfront activity and interaction. A new canal footbridge will also play an important role linking an existing residential development on the opposite bank to key transport nodes.
In support of Atlip Road playing a major role in the regeneration of Alperton, the project received a £3.2m grant from the Homes and Communities Agency’s Kickstart Programme.
Dexter Moren Associates were responsible for the project design through to planning, also initiating a wider masterplan which considered its regenerative impact in the Borough. Mount Anvil acted as developers and contractors in partnership with Ujima Housing Association (now L&Q).
