Five star hotel for Westminster gets green light

DMA has secured planning consent on behalf of The Splendid Hotel Group to convert ‘Queen Anne’s Chambers’ in London’s St. James Park into a 300 bed Intercontinental hotel. The property has its facades at 22-30 Broadway, 37-45 Tothill St and 1-3 Dean Farrar St and comprises a basement, ground floor level and five upper floors. Originally built in the 19th Century as a hospital, it has more recently been used as office space with retail outlets along the ground floor.

The £20million conversion will retain much of the original façade and feature a multi-level entrance atrium, bar & restaurant, conference facilities and 300 luxury suites and bedrooms arranged around four distinct wings. These spaces are separated by light wells allowing good lighting and ventilation into the structure.
