We are pleased to announce the following team promotions:
Anya Gordon Clark has been promoted to Senior Designer
Anya is an interior designer with experience in both high-end residential and hospitality sectors. She is responsible for developing conceptual and technical designs, spatial layouts, coordinating technical details, site visits and client communication.
Anya is currently working for market-leader Grainger PLC on the design of the amenity spaces in six large build-to-rent schemes using her experience to create a home away from home blending hospitality and residential elements. Anya is also leading pitches for DMA on various hospitality projects across the world, from Georgia to Kent.
Previously Anya has worked on the Hotel du Vin (formerly the Avon Gorge Hotel) in Bristol, The Vintry & Mercer hotel and the Westin hotel, both in London and the reconfiguration and updating of Courtyard by Marriott’s brand standards. Prior to her time at DMA, she was also involved in several high-end residential projects including a large apartment project at Chelsea Waterfront, and apartment schemes at Royal Mint Gardens, Tower Hill and Eagle House in Shoreditch, London.
Joel Iseli has been promoted to Associate
Joel recently returned to the UK after several years in Paris working on boutique hotels and larger projects. He is a qualified architect with experience in interior design in the hospitality sector and has worked on international projects for leading brands including Novotel, IHG and La Reserve. He is currently working on the new Art’otel in the Battersea Power Station development and the InterContinental in Lusaka, Zambia.
Joel is very involved in architectural education. He has been a speaker for a professional qualification examination course at ENSA Paris Malaquais (formerly Paris’ Beaux-arts school) since 2011 and is a Professional Examiner at the Bartlett in London. He is also mentoring colleagues through their RIBA Part 3 professional qualifications.
Ed Murray has been promoted to Associate
Ed is an accomplished project architect who has worked on a wide range of hospitality projects for international brands across the entire sector including luxury hotels, conference venues, resorts and spas. His rapport with clients, design teams and contractors make him an indispensable interface between projects and their stakeholders.
Ed is currently leading the delivery of a new Westin Hotel in the City of London. The hotel will be the first under Marriott’s Westin brand in the UK when it opens in 2021. The complex design replaces a collection of dated buildings with a cohesive piece of architecture stretching from Queenhithe Dock running South to North, bridging across Upper Thames Street. The building is highly visible from the South Bank, which allows for panoramic views over the River Thames towards Bankside. The scheme includes the introduction of a new riverside walkway connecting Victoria Embankment with the Tower of London.
Ed previously led the onsite delivery of the multi award winning new-build five-star Hilton Bankside.
At DMA we believe that our people are our greatest asset. We have developed a unique culture which promotes responsibility and innovation at all levels and where everyone feels they can make a difference. An AJ100 practice, we are headed up by ten Partners and eight Associates, with four senior architects and three senior interior designers bringing specialist skills from concept through to delivery.
As part of our continued succession plan, our collective aim is to empower future leadership to expand our hospitality led approach in both architecture and interior design to expanding sectors and markets. These include but are not limited to; build-to-rent, co-working, co-living, serviced apartments, leisure and retirement living – throughout the UK, Europe and Africa.
