Construction work starts on London’s Gansevoort hotel

The first European development from New York-based Gansevoort Hotel Group is underway on site in the Shoreditch area of East London.

DMA are leading the design and build of the 120 bedroom luxury urban resort on behalf of creative development consultancy SUSD Ltd, New York real estate developers Douglaston Development and Hondo Enterprises.

As well as the 120 guest rooms Gansevoort Shoreditch will feature seven luxury suites including a presidential suite, a restaurant, bar, rooftop pool and terrace, fitness centre and over 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The design will merge Gansevoort’s high standard of style and service with the edgy, urban vibe of the up-and-coming Tech City area in Shoreditch, paying homage to the district with designs inspired by the local street art scene.

The hotel is being developed on the corner of Curtain Road and Scrutton Street and is due for completion in 2016.
