Camden Collective receives Design Award

Camden Collective; DMA’s creative approach to transforming a redundant warehouse for Camden Town Unlimited has been recognised as the joint winner of the office conversion category at New London Architecture’s Don’t Move, Improve! Awards.

The eminent jury panel which included Peter Bishop, Deputy Chief Executive of the London Development Agency, Mark Elliott, Managing Director of Time Out London, and Peter Murray, Chairman of NLA, were impressed by DMA’s innovative approach, the way the project addressed the specific needs of its clients, and for the “integrity of roof structure being expressed on a tight budget”.

Collective was established by CTU to provide new, graduate and established businesses the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. Flexibility is at the core of the concept, with a moveable internal structure enabling the interiors to be re-configured quickly into a broad range of uses. The concept of the wall-less wireless office is achieved with a series of platforms on industrial casters, separated by white panels, also on casters. Reclaimed furniture and set lighting is featured throughout.
