Novotel Paddington
The Novotel London Paddington provides a glittering new addition to Development Securities' Paddington Central business park. The 'New Generation' Accor hotel incorporates conference and meeting spaces; leisure facilities including a pool; a bar and restaurant area opening out onto a landscaped square; and a tower of 206 rooms including three penthouse suites positioned to take advantage of views to the west. Clad in copper based brass and gold shingles the building creates a landmark amongst neighbouring glass-clad office blocks. A key feature in its development has been the construction of a new, high level, structural deck to enable the planned 'cross-rail' scheme to run underneath the site whilst allowing the hotel to be built above. The hotel aims to achieve an excellent BREEAM rating and will gain 19% of its energy from a central borehole.
