Holiday Inn Express Royal Docks
The Royal Docks area is currently undergoing extensive regeneration initiated by an LDA led masterplan for The Royals Business Park. Located within a dedicated leisure quarter, this new hotel fronts Royal Albert Way and enjoys views of the Royal Albert Dock.
Planned over four storeys the hotel has been designed as two buildings linked with a feature glazed bridge along the southern elevation. The facade is a strict composition of two materials; a brickwork grid with regular, deep-set reveals framing stone cladding panels and bedroom window apertures, whose alternating positions create a dynamic within the tactful structure.
The ground floor has been designed to create a lively street scene with reception and lounge facing Dockside Road and the bar and restaurant onto Compressor House Square to the east, both with openable glass facades allowing activity to spill onto an outdoor terrace.
